Emirates has been working hard to re-establish its operations for almost two years. Flight data has shown us that this is going well. Interestingly, while most of the airline's route network has been established by this point, around a quarter of the fleet remains inactive, confirming that the airline's capacities on some routes are still below pre-pandemic levels. According to Gulf News, Kazim confirmed that they currently sit at 70%.
According to comments from Kazim, Emirates is planning to operate its entire pre-pandemic network by next year. According to data from Cirium, achieving this won't necessarily be a challenging feat for the airline.
Emirates has 12.5 billion ASMs on its schedule for April, according to data from Cirium. This is 69.73% of 2019's April figure. This will increase to 80.90% of 2019's figure in May, though it is set to drop back down to 65.02% in June before slowly climbing again.
According to data from ch-aviation.com, 73 of Emirates' Airbus A380s are now active, leaving less than 50 aircraft grounded. All in all, just under a quarter of the Emirates fleet remains inactive. Ch-aviation shows that this includes two Boeing 777 aircraft, with the remainder consisting of Airbus A380s.
