Singapore Airlines Expands Services to Meet Growing Travel Demand ✈️
Singapore Airlines (SIA) is making exciting updates to its flight network, resuming routes and increasing capacity to meet the rising demand for international travel. With flights returning to Busan, expanded Airbus A380 services to Australia, and increased flight frequencies across key Asian destinations, SIA is set to exceed pre-pandemic service levels by March 2024.
Here’s everything you need to know about these updates!
🛫 Resuming Flights to Busan & Expanding East Asia Routes
One of the biggest highlights is the return of SIA flights to Busan, South Korea, starting June 2, 2023. The airline will operate four weekly flights on this route:
✔️ SQ616 (Singapore → Busan) – Four times a week
✔️ SQ615 (Busan → Singapore) – Four times a week
More flights to Seoul & Osaka!
📅 From June 1, 2023, SIA will introduce a fourth daily flight to Seoul
📅 From May 1, 2023, there will be 14 flights a week between Singapore and Osaka
More A380 flights to Hong Kong!
📅 From March 26, 2023, SIA will operate two daily A380 flights between Singapore and Hong Kong
📅 From October 1, 2023, a daily A350-900 medium-haul flight will be added, bringing the total to four daily flights
🌏 Southeast Asia: More Flights to Bangkok & Phuket
✔️ Bangkok – Five flights per day using the A350-900 medium-haul aircraft from October 1, 2023
✔️ Phuket – Four daily flights using the Boeing 737-800NG from March 26, 2023
🇦🇺 Australia: A380s Return to Melbourne & Sydney
SIA is bringing back its iconic Airbus A380 to Australia!
📅 Melbourne – A380 service resumes May 16, 2023, replacing the 777-300ER on flights SQ237/SQ228
📅 Sydney – Second daily A380 service from May 17, 2023, replacing the A350-900 on flights SQ221/SQ232
Travelers to Australia can now enjoy SIA’s luxurious A380 experience, including First-Class Suites, Onboard Lounge, and top-tier inflight service.
🌍 The Americas & Europe: Changes to New York & Frankfurt Routes
SIA is adjusting its operations on key long-haul routes:
📅 May 15, 2023 – The Boeing 777-300ER will replace the A380 on the daily Singapore–Frankfurt–New York (JFK) service. The aircraft still features SIA’s premium First Class cabins.
✔️ Two daily non-stop flights to New York will remain:
🔹 SQ24/SQ23 – Singapore ↔ John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
🔹 SQ22/SQ21 – Singapore ↔ Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
