Star Alliance Opens Premium Lounge Access for All Passengers in Rio de Janeiro
Great news for travelers flying with Star Alliance! The network has just expanded its luxurious offerings by introducing paid access to its premium lounge in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While Star Alliance Gold members can still enjoy free access, all other passengers flying with any Star Alliance airline can now purchase entry to the lounge.
This new option is a game-changer for Gold members, allowing them to buy access for friends and family who are traveling with them. This is the third Star Alliance lounge to offer paid access, joining the ranks of other lounges that have introduced this benefit.
Located on the third floor of the international departures pier, the Rio lounge offers breathtaking views of Rio’s iconic landscapes, including the Christ the Redeemer statue, the city's streets, and the surrounding mountains. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind before your flight.
The move comes after the Star Alliance Network’s August 25th announcement to allow paid access to its premium lounges. Previously, these exclusive spaces were only available to Star Alliance Gold members. Now, all passengers traveling on Star Alliance flights can enjoy the luxury of a world-class lounge, with the primary goal of catering to families and friends traveling with Gold members.
So whether you're a Gold member looking to share a lounge experience with loved ones or a regular passenger hoping to upgrade your pre-flight relaxation, this new offering is sure to enhance your travel experience.
