World Travel Awards 2024: Celebrating the Best in Middle Eastern Travel & Tourism
The prestigious World Travel Awards has announced its 2024 winners for the Middle East, recognizing excellence across the region’s travel and tourism industry. The announcement coincides with the Arabian Travel Market, a key event in the sector.
Top Destinations Recognized Among the highlights, Saadiyat Island was crowned the ‘Middle East’s Leading Beach Destination,’ while Abu Dhabi earned the title of ‘Middle East’s Leading Business Travel Destination.’ Dubai continued to shine, securing ‘Middle East’s Leading Destination,’ and Doha was named ‘Middle East’s Leading City Destination.’ Saudi Arabia’s growing prominence in tourism was acknowledged with accolades such as ‘Middle East’s Leading Heritage Destination’ and ‘Middle East’s Leading Cultural Destination,’ while AlUla was celebrated as ‘Middle East’s Leading Cultural Tourism Project.’ Additionally, Bahrain was honored as ‘Middle East’s Leading Wedding Destination.’
Hospitality Excellence In the competitive hotel sector, Jumeirah Al Naseem was awarded ‘Middle East’s Leading Hotel,’ while the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah received the title of ‘Middle East’s Leading All-Suite Hotel.’ Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach was named ‘Middle East’s Leading Luxury Resort,’ and The Royal Mansion @ Atlantis The Royal won ‘Middle East’s Leading Hotel Suite.’ Jumeirah, Address Hotels + Resorts, and The Ascott Limited were recognized as leaders in luxury, lifestyle, and serviced apartments. Notable newcomers included Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay and Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, awarded for their excellence as new hotel and resort entrants.
Aviation Excellence Leading airlines also received recognition, with Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and Emirates securing awards for their outstanding services and programs, reinforcing their global reputation in aviation.
Industry Leaders Applauded Graham Cooke, the founder of the World Travel Awards, praised the winners for setting high standards in the region’s travel and tourism landscape. Meanwhile, Lumi Rental, a key mobility service provider in Saudi Arabia and partner of the World Travel Awards, expressed pride in supporting initiatives that elevate travel excellence and boost regional tourism.
A Global Celebration This recognition is part of the World Travel Awards’ Grand Tour 2024, which highlights top travel and tourism organizations across six continents. The event will culminate in the Grand Final in Madeira, Portugal. Additionally, Address Downtown and Armani Hotel Dubai were acknowledged for their remarkable contributions to luxury hospitality.
